Tencel fiber is a trademark of Lyocell, a new type of cellulose fiber that was patented by AKOZO in the Netherlands, and was produced by British Courtaulds and Lenzing (Lenzing) in the United Kingdom. It is registered in China as "Tiansi". Tencel fiber and coniferous wood pulp are mainly used as raw materials for regeneration. The solvent spinning method is used for production. The production process involves dissolving wood pulp in an amine oxide solvent and spinning directly after being de-aggregated. Tencel fibers are not contaminated during the reproduction process and can be naturally degraded, which is considered as a green fiber.

Tencel fiber has high dry and wet strength, good dimensional stability, moisture absorption, comfort and silk smoothness, drape, gloss, feel, breathability, etc., as well as man-made microfibers and microfibers. Practicality, it can be pure spinning or a variety of fibers blended in any ratio. Such as Tencel / cotton fabrics can have a velvet texture; Tencel / hemp fabric feel soft, drape excellent, light and breathable; Tencel / Polyester increases the fabric's comfort and taking.

In the late 1990s, Tencel developed rapidly in the international community. China has also established several Tencel production companies to produce Tencel brand products. Tencel knitted apparel, especially knitted underwear, has become a new fashion.
