Fancy home textile products or become "invisible killer"

The weather is getting colder, and many homeowners have to add bedding. It is supposed to be the peak season for the home textile industry to greet the marketing "spring". However, recently, home textile products contain decomposable carcinogenic aromatic amine dyes, and the dyeing fastness and other indicators are unqualified. The problem has cast a shadow over the booming home textile market.

Fancy product or carcinogen

Recently, there have been media exposures, and the more fancy home textile products are, the easier it is to lurk. In August and September, the Beijing Municipal Administration of Industry and Commerce and the Beijing Consumers Association respectively released the bedding test report, which involved the main problems: the detection of decomposable carcinogenic aromatic amine dyes, dyeing fastness, fiber content and other indicators failed. . Last week, the Guangdong Provincial Bureau of Quality and Technical Supervision also published the results of special supervision and inspection of 27 kinds of product quality in Guangdong Province. The quality of 19 batches of products was unqualified, and the indicators such as dyeing fastness and fiber content were also unqualified. For a time, the quality of home textile products was pushed to the forefront.

Recently, the reporter visited and found that the home textile products sold in the market are mostly attracted by the bright colors of the pattern. Many consumers only pay attention to their appearance when buying home textile products, but they ignore the fact that these fancy home textile products may be a "invisible killer" that is harmful to health. Ms. Zhang told reporters: "Not long ago, I bought a bright yellow three-piece suit, the style is very beautiful, and I still get seriously faded after going home for many times. Recently, I was itchy, and finally I went to the hospital and the result was skin allergies. Ms. Zhang suspected that the dye used in the fabric may not meet the standard and may contain toxic substances.

In this regard, Zhu Xiaohong, secretary-general of the China National Textile Association, said that textiles should add some dyes, auxiliaries, etc. in the production process. Some of the inferior home textile products also contain formaldehyde and can decompose carcinogenic aromatic amines. If people are exposed for a long time, it will endanger their health. Among them, formaldehyde is present in the finishing agent of textile products, and the residue may have certain influence on the respiratory tract and skin after contact with the human body. In general, formaldehyde is easily soluble in water and can remove most of the formaldehyde after washing. However, the decomposable aromatic amine is more toxic and cannot be distinguished from the appearance of the textile. It can only be discovered by technical inspection, and it cannot be eliminated. This dye can cause various diseases and even carcinogenicity after contact with human skin. Danger.

Carcinogens originate from pre-processing

In the results of recent sampling tests, the words "degradable carcinogenic aromatic amine dyes in home textile products" can always be found. What can be decomposed into carcinogenic aromatic amines?

"Decomposable carcinogenic aromatic amine dyes are toxic chemicals that make textile products easier to color and brighter. The dyes are cheaper and faster to color, and some small textile factories use them as raw materials. "Zhao Yumei, assistant general manager of Yina Home Textiles, introduced that as early as ten years ago, China has banned the use of "aromatic amine dyes", and the mandatory standard "National Textile Basic Safety Technical Specifications" (GB18401-2010) also clearly requires infants and young children. Textile products (such as bedding), textile products that directly touch the skin (such as bed sheets, duvet covers), textile products that are not in direct contact with the skin (such as bedspreads, curtains) are prohibited from using decomposable carcinogenic aromatic amine dyes.

“The production of a home textile product is usually designed by the home textile enterprise first, and then the order is printed to the printing and dyeing factory. The printing and dyeing factory purchases the fabric, printing and dyeing according to the requirements. After that, the home textile enterprise sends the inspection and acceptance of the fabric, and finally the cutting and sewing The finished products are processed and processed into finished products. After the factory inspection, they are sold on the market.” Zhu Xiaohong said that the recent exposure of home textile products in terms of dyeing fastness, aromatic amine, washing dimensional change rate, PH value, etc. There are problems in the pre-processing of grey cloth, printing and dyeing, etc., which is not a problem in the production line of home textile enterprises. Today, most home textile companies rarely produce fabrics directly, and are only responsible for the subsequent processing of finished products. These follow-up links basically do not produce carcinogens.

Zhu Xiaohong analyzed in detail: "Some printing and dyeing processing enterprises in order to reduce costs, knowing that the decomposable carcinogenic aromatic amines are harmful but still need to be used; some home textile enterprises have not tested the raw materials in order to save costs, so that the unqualified products have become the fish of the net; Some small home textile companies have limited funds and purchase a small amount of fabrics. When working with printing and dyeing enterprises, the right to speak is relatively weak, and the ability to control product quality is poor."

Expert advice

Zhu Xiaohong: Home textile enterprises also need to take responsibility

Even if home textile companies are not the source of carcinogens, this does not mean that home textile companies can shirk their responsibilities. In fact, whether it is self-purchasing fabrics to the printing and dyeing factory, or directly purchasing finished products from the printing and dyeing factory, the home textile enterprises should strengthen the quality control and raw material testing to prevent unqualified products from entering the factory.

In addition, the products of large home textile companies usually produce corresponding test reports, and some small enterprises do not go to the relevant departments to conduct product testing, and cannot guarantee the safety of home textile products. Therefore, regardless of the size and popularity of the home textile enterprises, they must be responsible and provide consumers with an authoritative test report on the products.

Zhao Yongmei: Consumers should learn to learn "one smell, two touches, three licenses"

A smell. Whether there is a pungent odor in the close range of home textiles, especially in folded packaging. If so, the product may have problems with excessive formaldehyde;

Two touches. If the product in front of the product is poorly touched and rough, it is best not to buy it;

Three certificates of stay. For a period of time after the purchase of the goods, try to keep all the vouchers about the goods, including: purchase tickets, home textile tags, etc., and keep them as evidence of future product protection after sale.
