The two grades are “half-blooded” and “French” or cherry red (slightly lighter than the pigeon blood red). The best quality rubies are almost all from Myanmar, but the term “Myanmar Ruby” is only used as a commercial variety and does not represent its origin. If the ruby ​​produced in Myanmar is light in color, it cannot be called “Burma Ruby”; other high quality rubies such as Sri Lanka and Thailand can reach “Phoose Blood Red” or “Burma Ruby”.
